Classical Music 101-ZOOM

Join music historian Amber Broderick for an 8-week introduction to the world of classical music, designed for general listeners and newcomers. This accessible course features the "greatest hits" by your favorite composers, including Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Berlioz, Brahms, and many more. Students will learn how to identify the instruments of the orchestra by sound and sight, as well as learn about the musician/conductor relationship. The foundations of music (melody, harmony, rhythm, texture) are emphasized throughout, so you will be able to discuss music like a pro! Benefits include greater understanding and enjoyment of music, exciting listening suggestions, concert recommendations, and a chance to ask questions in a casual and welcoming virtual classroom. Participants will be contacted in a timely fashion with Zoom link.

This is a unique opportunity to have a “Life Long Learner” experience. Enrollment is limited. Please be aware that this is an eight week offering.

Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library is hosting this class. There is no cost to participants.
