Visible Mending Workshop
Sunday, January 512:30—3:30 PMBetty Strong Room (Large Event Room)Hopkinton Public Library13 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA, 01748
Add personality to your clothes while saving the planet! Push back against the throw-away fashion trend, and learn how to give old clothes new life with visible mending.
Visible mending uses many approaches to restore old, used or torn clothing and fabric items. It’s both a creative process and a way to demonstrate a commitment to sustainability by reducing waste and pollution.
Join us as Catherine Karp leads an informal workshop, where she will demonstrate how to use embroidery, patching and darning techniques to restore and revive damaged textiles.
You are invited to bring your own items to repair. All materials will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own scissors, needles, threads and fabric scraps.
Space is limited for this workshop, so registration is required.
This program is open to adults as well as young adults ages 12 and up.
